You say the update won't uninstall but how did you try to uninstall it?

Did you do what the other poster did and try to remove the update through
the "Device Manager"?

BTW - What operating system are you using.

The more you tell us the more likely to receive help either from me or
someone else. We all work together.

Hi there, just realised this is an update for Vista and thanks for
confirming, apparently it appears for users using Vista who haven't updated
to SP1 from what I gather. As for your question, according to MS -

<snip>
System Restore enables you to restore your computer to an earlier state
without losing data. This is ideal if your computer is not operating well
because of a configuration change, a problem with an application, or the
introduction of viruses or other unwanted software. By restoring to an
earlier point—a point before your computer began displaying problems—you may
be able to easily resolve the problems. (Applications that have been
installed since the restore point will be removed.) You don't have to worry
about taking periodic system snapshots—System Restore automatically creates
easily identifiable restore points. You can also manually create restore
points at any time.
<snip>

Please report back.

the IDT Audio update but my sound still does not work. What do I need to do
to fix this?

Apprently this update is causing a sound problem.

Did you uninstall it via the device manager?

Does a system restore help you out?

If not, report it -

Pleased it's sorted. If you need any further help in the future, please do
not hesitate to post. BTW - always mention your operating system as it helps
as this newsgroup deals with more than one operating system.
And I'm still learning.
