Hi Roy
Are you having any specific problem using IE7 on the corporate network?
In terms of rendering web pages, IE7 is highly compatible with IE6. Any web
page designed for IE6 has a good chance of displaying correctly in IE7.
If the internet websites are throwing up error messages because you are
using IE7, this is probably becuase the websites explicitly look at your
browser's "User Agent String", which reports the browser version. IE7 on
Vista will send a UAS like "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0b; Windows NT
6.0)". If the website doesn't see a "MSIE 6.0" in the UAS, it may be
programmed to display an error message.
This is a common problem. To work around it, download the User Agent String
Utility from the Microsoft website:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Run this utility on your Vista laptop. IE7 will now report itself as being
Internet Explorer 6 in the User Agent String. Websites which require IE6,
will then work correctly with IE on Vista.
Hope it helps,
