IE 6 menu bars are hidden

I have a computer that recently had a bunch of popup and spyware applications
loaded onto it. Now that everythis is removed, the menu bars (File, Edit,
etc) are all missing. There are no icons either.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue without having to rebuild the
machine. I have tried to uninstall IE6 and have not found a way to remove it.

Any help would be great.

Sounds like you may be in KIOSK mode.

To get past this you can press F-11 key.

This should cause the menus to come up. File, Edit, View....

Once these come back you can then click one View and tool bars and then
choose the options you want Usually Standard Buttons and Address Bar.

Try this and see if it works.

Please reply directly to the thread with any updates. You may receive this

Hi Mark,
I should've gone to this discussion site much earlier, your simple answer of
using the F11 key solved the very same problem for me! Your answer came
after 2 and a half days of trying to figure out how to correct the problem.
The options I considered were much more complicated than this simple
push-of-a-button solution!

thank you. One question, comes from this though. How can I find out what
each of the 12 function keys do in Explorer (besides simply pressing them of
course!)? Is there some kind of directory?

William, you can get a full list of all the keyboard shortcuts (to include
the function keys) by checking the IE Help/Contents/Function Keys entry.
