IE 7 crash & Google

I use Google Search as me default search when using IE7. About 10% of the
time when I enter a search term and press Enter I get "IE7 has stopped
working..." and choices close IE 7 or restart. Does anyone else get this
error.? Please don't say "don't use Google." Is this a known bug in IE 7?
Did I miss a fix? By the way this happened before SP1 and and after SP1 was
installed.

I know you said "don't" say "don't use Google," and I am not an expert.
However, I had exactly the same problem as you described (also before SP1).
The problem occurred with great frequency -- several times a day. I usually
had to restart IE7, although there were occasions when this would happen
without any action on my part and then automatically restart. Of course, it
never went back to the place where I was working. Occasionally, I had to do
a cold boot to get everything to work correctly. I am using Vista Home
Premium.

I finally called Microsoft. One of the things the rep had me do was to go
to Control Panel and delete all references to Google or Yahoo. She said
there have been some compatibility issues, and she seemed to concentrate
especially on the toolbars. She suggested that I do all of my searching via
the default bar at the top of the screen. I did that, and have not had a
single instance of this problem since then (and also seem to get the same
type of hits with that search as with Google). However, you could also try
typing Google in manually since the toolbar seems to be the primary problem.
Or, at least, it was the problem on my computer.

I use Google exclusively with Vista and IE7 without problems. I've had a lot
of problems with IE7 and Yahoo Companion on Windows XP machines. IE7 locks
up tighter than a drum. Removed Yahoo stuff and works ok.

I'll try the Google toolbar again. I removed both Google and Yahoo (which I
used primarily for mail -- now I just have an icon for mail on the desktop)
and see if that works. I do know many people who use Google, but the
Microsoft rep indicated that both Google and Yahoo often have compatibility
issues (but she did not say it will occur on every computer). However, the
OP only mentioned Google, and the problem he described is identical to the
one I encountered.

What are the fault details for this crash according to the Problem Reports
and Solutions Center control panel?

I was given 2 choices: 1) Close the application; and 2) Search the internet for a solution. This time I chose "Search the internet for a solution" and IE closed by itself.

And if you turn off Add-Ons within Internet Explorer, does the crash then not happen?

This particular type of crash indicates that a plug-in corrupted memory.

Are you using Panda Anti-virus?
