I know statistics out of my butt, but, I have not browsed lately without it crashing during every session.
Any idea's that could help me narrow down the cause?
I've been running the same software for 6 or 7 months now.
Just Windows Updates and Updates with Avast.

This might not be what you want to hear, but IE is the worst browser out there, in my opinion. I use Netscape 9. You can try that, Firefox or Opera. I think that all are better and more secure than IE.

Go to Tools > Manage Add Ons to check if there are any suspicious Add Ons
installed that might causing this problem, select it and click Disable.
Adobe Flash Player is a likely suspect, make sure the latest version is
installed. You could also try Resetting Internet Explorer settings.

Click Start > type 'Internet Options' open it > select 'Advanced' (tab) >
under Resetting Internet Explorer settings > click Reset.

If IE is crashing, thne there must be errors being logged in the Application
or System Event logs, which can be vierd off Control Panel/Admin Tools.

What do the error messages in the log indicate as to why IE is crashing?

Disable your Add Ons in IE and see if the problem persist. If not then add them back one by one until you find the culprit

Arnlod, I wouldn't know where to begin.
There are over 20,000 in a wide variety pointing to various windows services.
