Hello, can anybody help me?

Since I downloaded the latest 2 updates from the security center, the IE 7
does not work anymore. It runs but doesnt find sites anymore. Everything
works perfect without the latest 2 updates (don't know the numbers).

How can I repair it?

Benq Joybook S53W
Win XP
IE7

Thanks for help

In Systemsteuerung => Software you can find the latest 2 (or 4?)
updates. Uninstall, reboot. Install them again one by one and test.
Which update does make trouble?

Disable non-windows firewall and antivirus software during the
installation.

Thanks for your answer...here what I did:

Its the KB933566 but I could not uninstall it because it was not listed
under "security updates for windows internet explorer". So first I disabled
the non-windows firewall and installed IE7 again. Then the security centre
recognized that the KB933566 and KB929969 need to be installed (so far
everything is fine). I only installed KB933566 with the result: sites dont
show up again and the KB933566 is still not listed in the software list but
if i run the security centre check it does not show up anymore. Well finally
I installed KB929969 and that one is listed under security updates for
windows internet explorer.

It should be listed under Windows XP - Software Updates.

Which firewall or other security software do you use?

Isn't it listed under Windows XP - Software Updates?

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

3. If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) and don't
reinstall it, does this behavior persist?

I had to restore the system to a date prior to the updates. It seems the
patches created a problem. What you can do after you go to a date prior to
the problem is download another browser and use it that browser until
Microsoft fixes the problem.

Running XP. Same thing. Installed updates 3 times over 2 days! No browsers
working. No IE 7, no Firefox. Restoring to before the updates solved the
problem every time. I cancelled the updates and I'm waiting for a fix.

"Updates anzeigen" is activated? If true, you definitly should see it
under "Windows Internet Explorer 7 - Softwareupdates" and named
"Sicherheitsupdate für Windows Internet Explorer 7 (KB933566)".

*After* the installation of the update, right? You should at least
*completely disable* that *before* installing the update.

You may also want to try entering "netsh winsock reset" under "Ausführen"
in the Start menu, hitting [OK] or [Enter] and reboot your machine.
