Several months ago I was forced to put in a new hard drive. Everything seems
find except IE favorites.

When I open up IE 7, I have my favorites on the left side of the screen. If
I go to a specific webpage and I want to enter it into my favoites, I go to
the top and select favorites-add to favorites.

the problem is that the folders are not the same and when I add to favorites
they do not appear on the left side of the screen

QUESTION: I know how to move stuff ( I am not in Vista ). Where shoud
the files be and how do I direct one of the funcions (favorite center vs Add
to favorites) to go to the same spot as the other function.

Thanks and have a Merry Christmas and Fantastic New Year

If that is supposed to imply that you are using XP you can move the
location of the Favorites directory in that OS by dragging (using drag-move)
its folder icon. To find out which one you should drag-move Run...
(e.g. press Win-R and enter shell:Favorites
(assuming your Explorer window has an Address bar to read the path from).
