IE 7 starts up on its own with a blank page

Hi! I have a laptop useing vista home premium. My problem is that ever
now and then the screen goes completly white. When I start up the tas
manager I find that IE7 has started up on its own with a blank page.
do not even use IE7 and have FireFox set as my defalt brouser Can anyon
help please

1. Start Internet Explorer. On the menu bar [if not showing press the Alt
key] go to Tools > Options > and then work with the property sheet until the
homepage and tab behaviours are to your liking.

2. Uninstall the Firefox browser using the Programs applet in the Control
Panel. If you have bookmarks from FireFox, export them before uninstalling.

3. Use "Program Defaults" found on the Start menu [or in Control Panel] to
make Internet Explorer the default.

Since you didn't state that you wanted to get rid of Firefox (why would
one?). Open Internet Explorer, Tools>Options and then replace about:Blank
with a valid URL and set that as your home page. No other changes
necessary...
