Hi I am strugling to see the URL on the information line at the
bottom
of IE8. It has no less than 6 small divisions with nothing in them.
This makes the URL first segmant far to small. What are these
redundant segmants used for and can they be got rid of.

TIA

Desmond.

The proper name is the status bar

=====================
I've got a really big block on the left for the status to be displayed, then
7 or 8 small square boxes that change shape as the content in them demands
(and they eventually return to empty squares).

What happens when you turn the Status Bar off, close IE, then re-open IE and
turn the Status Bar back on?
