When I use Google search. If I click the page a black bar appears at
the top containing web, image, video, maps, news, shopping, etc. I get
odd beaviour. The wheel on the mouse wont scroll the page. The whole
middle section splits off from the toolbar. It is very slow. I often
get the rotating circle which means the pc is doing some work.

I do not have a problem when using the Yahoo search engine.

Advice needed

I get the same black bar in IE8 and IE9- looks like it's their new look. My
page is full page, so there's nothing to scroll down to.

My only advice is that if Yahoo is working better for you, don't use Google
:-)

I was having the same problem - went to IE Add-ons and had 3 google add-ons enabled.
Disabled all 3, and the search is working fine now. You might want to give that a try.

I found exactly the same. I have disabled these addons, and things
seems alright at the moment.

Any idea why Google's Toolbar seems to interfere so dramatically with
IE9.

Best wishes.
