Some of the pictures from some sites will not display. I have tried
everything.

help

Good example is the sympatico.msn.ca home page. The picture links on the
right side only show a box with a red x inside.

Red X,
http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp

Or, it could be a problem with the site. There is a forum I use that was
hacked today, upon it's return, the icons, smilies, etc, are all red x's. I
thought it was something I had done in my own settings, although I don't
recall changing anything. I posted a question about it in that forum, and
it seems I was not alone. The site admin said it was thought to be caused
by the hack and that it was being investigated.

Still have problems with the "X" after going to that site. It talks about
certain types of images not being supported by IE, and a bunch of the images
on sites like eBay (.cgi) aren't supported - yet it doesn't say what to do if
they are not supported...How could main pictures on eBay not be supported?
That makes no sense...???...When you right-click on it, it says all the
pictures are "bug.cgi"...maybe it's a bug? Whole thing is odd.

"1. Right-click the red X or placeholder for the image, and then click
Properties. Verify that the image type is supported by Internet Explorer by
examining the Type or Address (URL) values in the Properties dialog box. For
example, a Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) file will list GIF Image for
Type and the Address (URL) ends with .gif. Internet Explorer displays images
with an .art, .wmf, .emf, .png, .mov, .xbm, .avi, .mpg, .gif, .jpg, .mpeg,
and .bmp extensions."

Listen up all...If you are having these problems and have Zone Alarm
installed on your computer, this will most definitely help you. In ZA, you
need to enable web bugs. Go to "Privacy" within ZA and then the "Site List"
tab. Under this, you have to put a Green Check in the web bugs column in the
site where the boxs with red X's are appearing. This SHOULD solve your
problem. For example, for eBay, you have to enable web bugs for the site:
www.ebay.com as well as cgi.ebay.com, if you do not do both, the boxes will
continue to appear.

As long as you enable web bugs any other sites that this problem is
occuring, being that you have ZA, this problem should be no more!

Good luck!

If you see red X's your suppose to go to the info bar at the top, but I can't
find this.
It's suppose to be in with Windows 2000 service pack 2. I no longer have
that information. I can't find it in my computer.Any suggestions?
I'm with you "HELP"
