Not really sure how this happened, but I think that drag/drop a file
onto my admin acct's desktop-thought I was making a shortcut, and now I
can't delete it. When I try deleting I get :

If you delete this file, it will no longer be shared.
Folder: C:\users\valued customer\desktop\internet explorer
Share names: Internet explorer

I keep giving permission (Continue), but it keeps recycling and never
deletes.

Opening the IE desktop icon, under its folder I get two sub folders:
en-US and SIGN-UP, and then various files (iedw, ieuser,
iexplorer,sqmapi.dll)

I don't mind deleting IE as it is not my default browser and I can
always DL it again.

In the original location (C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer) there are also
19-20 files, along with the 2 folders.

You can try to copy the Internet Explorer folder that is now on your desktop
back into C:\Program Files. See if that works for you.

If it does we can then work on deleting the folder from your desktop. And,
DO NOT use drag and drop! It gets many into trouble. Right click on the
folder and use "copy". Then open up the C:\Program Files folder and "paste"
the copy there.

Try deleting the contents of the sub-folders, then the sub-folders and
finally the top folder.

Could be because iexplore.exe et al are protected system files and the OS
simply restores them every time you delete? Looks like the Plugins folder
that should be with the other two did get deleted, or else is still in its
original location.

Moving the file/s/folder/s back to the original location --\Program
Files\Internet Explorer might get it/them off the desktop for you.
