IE has trouble connecting after 10/29/08 updates

After the updates last night my connection is messed up. A page, like
myYahoo, will load like normal but then hang trying to upload the last couple
of photos. It does not appear that it is even making a call out based on the
network indicator showing no activity. I can only sporatically bring up
pages like www.microsoft.com... again it is just hanging. I have confirmed
my internet provider (Charter cable) has no network issues and I've rebooted
the cable modem multiple time. I am running Vista with all the latest
updates?

Anyone seeing this? Any ideas? This is incredibly frustrating... I'm at a
standstill!

As a follow up... I am having identical issues with FireFox and Saffari...
again most of a page will come up then it hangs continuing to try to load
things on the page while there is no network activity. The page (when they
come up partially) is functional

The first step in verifying whether this was caused by the updated is System
Restore. Find a restore point that's before the update occurred and see if
everything's OK afterwards. If so, run Windows Update manually and read
what it's offering you. If they're "important" or "high priority"
(depending on your version of Windows) then you probably need them. Install
them one at a time until you discover which one's causing the problem. Then
post back here.

If they're "optional" or "recommended", decide whether you really need them.
If not, don't install them, otherwise install them one at a time until you
discover which one's causing the problem. Then post back here.
