I have tried that and also the steps listed in the link kb/320159 with no
change. IE seems to be redirected by the information in the registry
pertaining to "first home page" but it never seems to reset. My home page
information is retained and works when I click on the Home icon on the tool
bar. Also if I start IE from a URL saved in my favorites or one listed in
just about any type of document IE goes to the URL just as it should, the
problem shows up whenever I start IE with the IE icon, where it should go
directly to my home page. I have IE version
6.0.2900.2180.xsp_sp2gdr.050301.1519. Any additional ideas on how to resolve
this problem would be appreciated, this started after windows updates that
were installed earlier this month.
