I'll try and add to it

I've just had to set up my laptop again (running XP SP3) and although IE
works fine. IE is in the start menu and displays as "Internet Explorer (No
Add-ons)" so when I launch it the pop up bar comes up saying "Internet
Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage,
disable or remove your add-ons".

I do that and it appears to me they ARE enabled!!

On launching Windows Update page I don't get any such warning and add-ons
such as McAfee site advisor is there as it should be.

I think its intermittent problem! Google Chrome is my default browser

Any ideas how to sort please?
Thanks
