IE not showing update detail

When using the Start Menu Windows Update option in XPSP2, choose Custom
and then IE shows 2 available optional updates on left, click on the
link and then is says there are no available optional updates on
detail/right side.

If I load the udpate site via Deepnet or GreenBrowser or some other
alternate IE browser, the optional updates detail shows up on the
right-hand-side as expected.

Any ideas about why IE is doing this.

Thanks,
DC
