IE problems after SP2 installation

I recently installed SP2 on my XP Home edition computer. It installed fine
and I am free of viruses and spyware. I have a dial up connection and it
dials fine, but my Internet Explorer is not displaying pages. It opens fine
but gives DNL error and page cannot be displayed message. My netscape
browser works fine but because IE is not working, my windows update will not
work and I cannot download any more updates. I defaulted all my internet
settings and turned windows firewall and my norton firewall on and off but
still no use. Please give some suggestions. thanks
