IE Security update - antivirus doesn't load

After installing new IE 7 security updates on January 3, 2008, my computer no
longer loads up my antibirus and firewall software to appear in the bottom
right tray. I am using the CA Internet security suite through road runner. I
spoke with road runner support, and after reinstalling the software, and
going through numerous other tasks, nothing has changed. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

1. Uninstall CA Internet Security via Add/Remove Programs.

2. Enable the Windows Firewall.

3. Install a different anti-virus application.

Thanks. It turns out I had a vundo trojan and CA associates removed it for
me. I reinstalled it and it works now.
