For some reason IE shortcuts on my desktop are opening in Restore Down size.
I would like them to open in Maximize size. They used to open full size and
I can't seem to find a way to put them all back that way. Any ideas?
It's no biggee. Now when I click on an IE shortcut it opens in small size
and I only need to click on the maximize icon on the upper right corner
but.... I'd rather not have to do that each time.

Hi. I am using Vista and IE9.

Something similar happened to me some time ago - my IE suddenly started
opening links in normal or smaller. Here's what I was told to do: the next
time you open a link and it opens small, stretch IE by hand [mouse] to fill
the entire screen ....

!!! do not use the upper-right square icon to maximize !!!

Then close IE by going to "file > exit".

!!! do not use the top-right x button to close, actually use "file > exit
!!!

Since then my IE has been opening links full size. Hope it works for you.

Thanks, Tony. But links in emails have been opening full screen all the
time. If I open IE directly it opens full screen. But if I copy a URL
from IE, then right click on my desktop and choose New...Shortcut... I paste
the URL in the Location box and name it. When I later double click it to
open it, it opens IE in a small screen. The same thing happens if I copy
URL, right click in any folder, choose New...Shortcut and paste the URL
there. I'd like IE shortcuts to open full screen. They used to.

Hi,
Try this, starting with one of the desktop shortcuts...
Open a webpage. Stretch it out to fullsize. Don't use maximize.
Choose any link on that webpage and right-click> open in a new window.
Stretch that second window out to the desired size- don't use maximize.
Close the first IE window. Then close that second resized window.

Plan B... Find iexplore.exe in Program Files\Internet Explorer. Right-click
iexplore.exe, drag it to the desktop and choose Create Shortcut.
Right-click that shortcut> Properties> Shortcut tab> Target, modify the
Target
to include the URL.
Example:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"
becomes
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" www.yahoo.com
Note a space between " and w
To choose window size, right-click that shortcut> Properties> Shortcut tab>
"Run" field, choose maximized.

Plan C... To always get a true maximized window, try this free program;
AutoSizer 1.4- http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/

Excellent. Works perfectly. I found the same information on the Internet
Explorer Forum (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum)
Thank you, Don. Plan A was best for me since I have LOTS of URL shortcuts
and would have to modify each one using plan B.
