Ie6 and updates

Hello and Thanks.

I did a Ie6 repair and now updates is telling me that i have about 85
updates but keeps giving me Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool
(KB892130) but when i try and install it wont let me nor will it let me
install any updates.

I googles my problem and its telling me to check my copy of Windows i bought
my computer from a middle school sale it came with software installed and no
booklet

I have a used Dell Demision 8300 how can i work around this issue.

I check a cpl of the updates that it wants me to install and they are
already installed on my computer up when i checked media play the update is
not there but also wont allow me to update if the updates are really on my
computer how do get rid of the yellow and or red shield. and will i ever be
able to update again. I would appreciate any information you might offer

This will probably be your solution it is easy and can't hurt to try.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or by
using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP installation

Have a lot at the above article, perhaps Method 1 should be sufficient otherwise try
Method 2 as well.

Hi, I had all sorts of troubles & tried a few diff things - the only thing
that worked for me is when I shut down Zone Alarm & AVG first, then it worked
straight away. I had tried shutting down just Spybot S&D first but wasn't
until I did the other two that it worked. So, it was either one or the other
or both. So frustrating I know! Good Luck
