IE6 SP1 from WindowsUpdate site

Has anyone experienced any problems with IE crashing after downloading the
IE 6 SP1 (KB832894) from the Windows Update site when updating within the
past 3 weeks?

I have a PC which I started rebuilding within the past 3 weeks. Once the
update is installed IE keeps shutting down unexpectedly (with a prompt to
send the error report to MS). I have tried replacing all hardware
(motherboard, proc, HDD, RAM) and reinstalled Win2K Pro, but the error
re-occurrs at the same point (after installing IE 6 SP1). I even tried to
download the update from the MS Downloads site but got the same results.

Could there be something wrong with the update?

Yes, there has been several issues with KB832894/MS04-004.

Install this one, it includes a lot of updates to KB832894/MS04-004,
and it also includes the latest cumulative security update for
Internet Explorer (KB867801/MS04-025):

An update rollup is available for Internet Explorer versions 5.x and 6.0
