IE7 and Adobe Flash Player

It seems from what many on here are saying, something's drastically changed
with our computer software from MS re IE7. This is ridiculous. I've done
everything recommended, and I'm most grateful for all of you, but we the
consumers deserve an explanation from MS, now. Many of us are tried and true
to MS, and have been, but enough is enough. I've spent 2 days on this on a
deadline, no less.

Now to resort to contacting Adobe support and spending another 4 hours just
to obtain Adobe Flash Player (when Adobe itself is virtually uncontrollable
in opening our ports without seeking out their "update" files, etc.).

Frankly, I'm exhausted with this, and must get on with business of
"computing." I've changed my privacy and security settings until I'm no
longer sure what the heck I have done. Let's hope MS is protecting our
systems during this nightmare with IE7. Is it merely a game to get us,
yes -, to download IE8, a Beta??

Maybe all you consumers deserve an explanation from Adobe?

No trouble with my copy of IE 7.

Great thought, Mr. Grey.

Something has changed in the past week, that's for sure. I wouldn't be
surprised if it was Adobe. Isn't there another program???? If not, there
soon shall be in this economy. But, where were the MS software maintenance
people?

Sure, Microsoft knows all about every product ever made to add in to
Internet Explorer, including access to the code and authority to tell
the developers what to do.

I hate to tell you this but you may have to start anew (from the scratch).

You should be successful after removing the existing version *completely*.
Adobe have a proprietary uninstall tool!

I understand your frustration, once you're settled down start over again.
Ensure you follow exact procedures and reboot between tasks!

Nothing wrong with IE7 here.

Don't; Wait until its final release!

BTW:

RC1 is short for "Release Candidate 1". Release candidate software is ready
to be evaluated by users while it undergoes final testing. You may
experience minor bugs or compatibility issues with websites while browsing.

I'm still at sea with this problem. How does one uninstall the December
security updates?

Just my thinking, too.

Did not reboot between those 5 steps.

Neva fret! I've got more than I can handle with these Dec Updates, now.

I've been on the phone with MS since my last post here, this AM... they said
there's "a problem" with the last Update for IE7 (December).
My support person did everything you suggested, too, to no avail, then got a
team working on it, and they downloaded the reinstall DirectX from the MS
website. At that point, we were disconneted, and he's calling me back, but I
then hit the Adobe Flash Player install program (on my desktop), and VOILA.
It's there.

Sheesh. He checked everything else, and also ran another AV "just in case,"
with nothing found, "at all."
sigh - this only took 4 days. But, one caveat, he did explain that our
frequent updates are due to the high # of users on PC (vs. Macs), so
criminals writing destructive codes are wanting to hit the most users
possible, hence, target PCs. Made sence to me. ;-)) Night-nite.

Adobe offers free email support(via a Web Case) for Flash Player
installation problems, you might turn there next:

1. Go to the Adobe Support Portal:
http://www.adobe.com/go/supportportal/

2. When you get to the Support Portal page, click on the Button that says:
"Create an Account"

3. Once you've created an account with Adobe and you're logged in to that
Account, at the bottom of the page use the selector to select:
"Installation Help"

4. In the 'Choose product' category put a tick in the radial next to:
"Additional products"

5. From the selection menu select:
"Adobe Flash Player"

6. Now click the button that says "Continue"

You will taken to a page entitled:
"Create a support case"

7. Here you can type your support request and send it to Adobe

Good luck,
