I have read things on this but I really need to find an Answer.....
No Mater what settings are in IE7 Tab Browsing Control are set to every URL
whether it is a link, a typed in url, a shortcut what ever it always opens in
the same tab.....Never opens a New Tab or even anew window even when REUSE
Windows is not Checked in the Advanced Tab of the Tools....
This just started for no reason, Have extinguished all my Ideas, knowledge
and strenght...and ready to go get drunk and forget putting this machine
together...
I have read everything on this subject and God only knows how many are
having the same problem but from all kinds of threads in at least the 6
categories I looked in...been reading for 2 hours and no answers....
PLEASE MS GODS HELP ME.....

Hi ThrashMaster

Follow along with me at this link as a guide. Sometimes the link wil
direct how they will open in IE7

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/78...d-browsing.htm

On step 5, make sure you have these two dotted
1. Always open pop-ups in a new tab
2. A new window - or - A new tab in the current window

If this doesn't work, then try clicking the "Reset' button in Tools
Internet Options > Advanced. Don't forget to enable your addon
afterwards

Hope this helps
Shaw

Got all that and that all works fine but can you tell me why in IE7 does it
not make a new tab open when I click on a link in my favorites or when I type
in a URL in the address box? it open opens these in the focused Tab not a New
Tab
thanks for all your help....

I have found that this behaviour is different on IE7 on XP on my Thinkpad
laptop to my desktop computer running Vista. The Vista machine works fine,
but the XP one reuses tabs for clicked links. I think it works okay on my
Win2003 server as well.

Sorry, i don't have an answer, but you might have better luck in the IE
newsgroup:

This operation is unavailable in my IE7 (tabbed browsing is enabled).

Hi Maco,

Try pressing "Alt + C" (no quotes) to see if that will open it for you
while in IE7.
