IE7 beta & Windows Update

I've got IE 7 beta. Windows update page will not work. I get an error code
0x800B0001.
I've seen some resolutions for that error code online, but none seem to be
fixing this problem I'm having with IE7.
Has anyone else seen this, and got it resolved?

IE7 is a beta product and not supported by Windows Update.
When the final, released product becomes available, then, of course,
it will be supported by Windows Update.

No problems reaching or using Windows Update here, running IE7 B2P.

OK, I can accept that, but how can I keep my system updated with the
necessary security updates, etc. if Windows Update does not work with IE7-B2?
