Hi All

I have dual operation systems (Windows Vista Ultimate edition / Windows XP)
installed with the configuration of 1GB of RAM, Intel P4-3GHZ processor.
Recently I came to know that browser history can be cleared using
RunDll32.exe with some arguments at command line. I have IE7 installed on
both OSs. I could able to clear the history of IE7 using the command line
(Start --> Run --> "RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1" )in
Windows XP.

But the same command (Start --> Run --> "RunDll32.exe
InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1" )didn't work for IE7 on Windows Vista.
I appreciate if anyone of you can please let me know the reason for not
clearing the IE7 history on Windows Vista.

FYI: IE7 is not running on both OSs when used this command.

Please advice, Thanks in advance

Regards
Vighneswar

Might be a question of playing with the numbers. 25 seems to work here.

RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 25

I spoke too soon. 25 doesn't fully do the trick.

Anyhow you can always delete the index.dat files in the relevant subfolders
of

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\History\Low\Histo ry.IE5\
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\History\History.I E5\

if needs be.
