IE7 forces us to turn off Updates in GPO

Is there a way to just deny IE7 without having to turn off our updates for
all computers?
What is MS reasoning for forcing this not ready product on us.

You can set Automatic Updates to just Notify. Then when the Notification
comes in, Select Custom (default is Express on Download Window), unselect
IE7 and then when prompted, tell Auto Update to not remind me again.

Now when you go and check, MS will only tell you of updates ready to be
downloaded. You can then click on the Bubble and do what I mentioned above.

You can also set this via GPO.

Another option is to use a software restriction policy for the IE7
Installer.
