IE7 hangs after update

This is a problem with a friends computer:
XP Home
100% cpu
Have to log off current user to regain use of computer
I see a failed reference to an IE7/runonce....
Nothing notable in event log
Current running FF 2.0 as work around.
Any help would be appreciated.

That was helpful. Thank you. It seems the RunOnce was MSN "Customize your
settings".
