Google is working okay but, yesterday I noticed, on IE7 status bar, that the
restricted sites symbol is showing, instead of the green planet, when IE7 is
displaying
http://www.google.co.uk
I've hunted through a mass of entries in IE7's tiny-windowed restricted
sites list.
I'm guessing that Spybot Search & Destroy put those in there, seeing as a
couple of months ago I removed the massive IE-Spyads list.
I hunted through my XP Home ed. SP3+ registry, and indeed :-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Microsoft | Windows | CurrentVersion |
Internet Settings | Zonemap | Domains |
google.co.uk is in there with a www sub-key hex value 4
....forget that, just deleted that key in registry, and have now been able to
add
www.google.co.uk to Trusted Sites zone. ...not that I'll keep it in
there !
....any idea why I was unable to locate google.co.uk amongst all the "typo"
type google url's, in IE7's restricted sites list ?
( I did switch off Spybot S&D's resident protection btw, and had to keep it
off whilst manually removing google.co.uk key from registry - of course).
