Open the sidebar.
Expand the Favorites so it shows the folder you want to save the URL in.
Click and hold the favicon at the L/H end of the address bar. Drag to the
folder required.

You guys are great. I was so busy that I just noticed the problem. If I
hadn't noticed your post I would have wasted the day looking for the answer
thinking I was really dumb. They did the same thing with Office 2007 by
putting in that ribbon, taking away the menus and slowly dropping support for
the older versions. The Chinese had to come out with a product to put the
menus back. There seems to have been a Change with Gates stepping down - now
they want to give us what they feel like instead of what we need. If I
wanted an Apple I would have bought one. I use my machines for business. I
really don't like wasting time only to find out that it's another Microsoft
business policy change.

Has there been a fix to this yet?
I find this so very frustrating as well since I have over 6,700 favorites in
510 folders and it is a waste of time to have to scroll all the way down and
try to find the same folder.

So open an Windows Explorer window at that level and drag the URL from the
IE Address bar to it. Alternatively, use the new Add to Favorites Bar
button for all you new additions and then drag them all from that
subdirectory to wherever you want them to be instead. No "scrolling"
required.
