After installing windows updates this morning, IE8 will no longer allow me to
use rich-text (HTML) in standard SharePoint editor controls. Last night, it
worked. Today it doesn't. I found some info about the length of the user
agent string needing to be less than 256, but mine is only 238 characters.

Any clue what is wrong?

Why, you're just full of IE8 problems today, aren't you?

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista 64-bit SP2;
Win7 RC; Win7 RTM) when posting in a forum or newsgroup.

What updates did you install?

I have the same issue with IE8, but only with the 64-bit version. The
SharePoint HTML editor works fine in the 32-bit IE8 on the same machine. Is
there some plug-in that is registered or supported by te 32-bit but not the
64-bit browser?

I'm running Windows 7 and the pre-installed version of IE8.
