In previous versions of IE one could "non-destructively" append trusted sites
to systems by using a adm, preserving a users existing trusted sites. This
does not seem to be possible in IE8. I have tried adding using registry
preferences. Maybe I am just missing a step. any Ideas? I have tried this
approach

which seemed plausible but the technique did not work on the domain. The
registry entires were present but IE did not intrepret them and the sites
were not recognized as trusted.
