Unless you are a web developer and need to configure for IE8, uninstall the BETA.

Right pew, wrong church => IE Beta Public Newsgroup Support:
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta

Via the web-interface:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...texplorer.beta

Via your newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...texplorer.beta

[Yes, I understand that the link you used may have brought you to IE General
newsgroup. We've gotten one of 'em fixed but there's still one more to go.]

Hi,

You need to uninstall Flash Player first, but this can only be done with the
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller. You can get this here
http://www.softwarepatch.com/softwar...r-program.html

Once uninstalled, go back to the Adobe Flash Player home page and dowload
the latest version.
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Hope this helps.

Hi - I just got this working on IE8-b2. IE8 seems to be calling out there is
a security threat, so you need to temporarily lower the security and install.

After uninstalling all Adobe add-ins, goto Tools->InternetOptions->Security
-- Following pull the 'Security level for this zone' down as far as you can.

Following, install Flash, etc. Then reset the security to the default level.

Good luck!

This answer still works as of Jan 24, 2008. I had problems and came here to
look for an answer. Thank you so much for posting on these sites. So many
people think that it is more important to say that it is impossible rather
than keeping silent to make it easier to find the real answers.

So far, I am really liking Version 8. I just had a registry hickup and knew
that it was possible to run flash. Loading the uninstaller and reinstalling
only took one minute and I did not even have to reboot.

I've tried all of the above and still can't get Flash Player to work with
IE8. I was going to downgrade back to IE7, but it won't let me now, saying it
won't install it due to a later version of IE being detected on the system.
Gutted really.

If the online install of the Flash Player is not working properly for you,
then you might try using the Manual method to both uninstall and then
reinstall the Flash Player. Download the following two files and save them
to your Desktop:

Manual Flash Player Uninstaller
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ash_player.exe
Manual Flash Player Installer
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie

Run the Uninstaller from your Desktop to remove the Flash Player from your
system, the use the Installer to reinstall the Flash Player to your System.
