OK... As stated in OP, I'm running IE8 on Windows XP SP-3. The problem was
that on a new install, IE would keep History each day, then refuse to show
past History for that week once the transition happened to "Last Week".
Current week, that is per day, continued to behave as expected. What seems
to have worked is *I killed the profile* from a spare administrator account,
then rebuilt the profile. The biggest pain involved was needing to
re-register a number of softwares with their respective serial numbers.
Bottom line is, "It's now Monday again - and I have History for *Last
Week*".
So now, I would like to find, "Where in the registry does this list get
processed"? As a further experiment to track this down, I restored my
registry in midweek from a nightly backup which is done with 3rd party
software. Sure enough, Wednesday's history would no longer display even
though the items were still in the history folder. This would seen to
confirm that the problem was in the CURRENT_USER hive. If anyone can point
me to the location, I'd certainly appreciate it.
