Simple, two-part question: Why should I install IE8 on my Vista Ultimate
(x32), and why should I not install IE8?

I'm using IE8 on my Vista Home Premium 32 without any trouble.
It's more secure than IE7.
I think maybe a little faster
Personally I like it better than FF.

You can always give it a try for your self and if you don't like remove
it.
That's the only way you will know for sure.

I dont have time to explain, just one sentence:

Do install it, it's great, and if not - as usual there're settings that
people leave in wrong positions, so check out all settings/options, disable
rubbish addons, etc and it's reall fast!!
You MAY need to occasional enable "compatibility view" option for some older
sites who aren't aware of IE8 & therefore get somewhat corrupted (e.g.
YouTube videos take time to load), but as usual with new application,
everyone else is qucikly aligning to work with it, and NOT with old IE7.

I really like new IE8 search text within a webpage, too long to explain,
it's a blockbuster.

What I don't like is how MS promotes its Bing search engine versus Google,
but you can set to Google, it's just that Bing appeared first, i delete dit
and added Google instead

Hi, this is Feran with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team. Like
suggested above, IE8 is a more secure and reliable browser. You can read
more at the IEBlog - 'IEBlog' (http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/) and check out
these reviews regarding its security features - 'Is IE8 Actually Safer?
- PC World'
'IE 8: Its Security Is Worth the Download | ITworld'
Also at this time if you download IE8 from 'Internet Explorer 8 -
Better Browser' (http://www.browserforthebetter.com?ocid=ie8_sm_a)
Microsoft will donate 8 meals to Feeding America.
Thanks,
Feran

Sure, if you like bugs and incompatibility install it. (Not that IE7
is exactly bug free, but at least it didn't have the compatibility
issue.

I use IE8 on Vista as it's a more secure browser than IE7.

Thanks! Personally, I think "security" is overhyped, and I look at people
from MS (or those who simply stick to the flypaper) as less than reliable
witnesses. Show me a few (better yet, a lot) cases of some such issue in the
wild, and you might have a start on making me think it's an issue to be
worried about.

Thanks again,

I knew I'd get at least one of these. All opinion, with next to zero
information.

Thanks you! Thanks for the reading list. A good start, anyway!
