ie8 for Windows 7, 64 bit

What version of ie8 are you suppose to download? Tried vista 64 bit and
received error message, wrong product version
Why isn't there a download for windows 7?

Win7 64-bit (like all previous 64-bit versions of Windows) includes IE8
64-bit and IE8 32-bit. IE 64-bit is the default.

ActiveX Controls are not allowed in IE 64-bit so if you need to access a
page dependent on ActiveX (e.g., any page with Flash content), open an
instance of IE 32-bit to access the page. (No, there isn't a 64-bit version
of Flash, at least not yet.)

IE8 does not care if you use Vista 64 or Win7 (which is only 64-bit). but
the sites you visit care if you are using a 32-bit browser or a 64-bit
browser.

Click Start>All Programs, and scroll down the list to IE. You will see two
instances of IE, one will say IE (64). Start the 32-bit IE and see if your
problems go away.

labeled. Also the icon on the bar is for the 32-bit version. To use the
64-bit version, you have
to start it from the Start Menu unless you've changed the default yourself.

For what ever reason, my Windows 7 system is opening the 32 bit version of IE
explorer instead of the 64 bit version. How do you change the default to be
the 64 version? By hand selecting the 64 bit version, about 1/2 of the sites
previously showing "error onn page messages" now worked. But there are still
others that do not open some of their pages. But they do not show a "error
on page" message now. They just don't open or open to a blank page.
