This problem is 100% repeatable. Each time I go to the WindowsUpdate site and scan for updates, iexplore.exe crashes in either ntdll.dll or msvbvm60.dll. I don't get an error code, but I do get an offset value, which has been 00033905 and 00033aed for ntdll.dll and 0004585d for msvbvm60.dll.
Any advice or suggestions on what to do, where to look, or even the possible causes would be greatly appreciated.
This is happening on a system running Windows XP Pro SP1 with all critical updates, excluding SP2, but including IE 6 SP1.
