If I break something I try to fix it...

It appears that Windows Update has introduced a catalogue of errors into mine
and many other peoples PCs. I've trawled around this site looking for a
simple fix to this problem but everything seems 'too technical' for a mere
mortal like myself. It appears that if I want to resolve this problem I must
learn about Registries or something that are "very dangerous to touch and if
you get it wrong your PC is messed up well and good so DON'T DO IT". As
Microsoft have introduced this problem into our systems is it too much to ask
for a simple update that will fix it? Am I missing something here???

On a piece of paper, write down the KB numbers you see on this newsgroup
that are causing problems, especially if you're having the same
problems. Start/Control Panel/Add Remove. Make sure Show updates is
ticked. Remove the offending updates one at a time and reboot and see if
it fixes your particular problem. If so, leave it off until next update
time or if a fix for the fix comes out sooner.
