What if I do not want an update?

Hi NG,

please could someone tell me what I can do if I do not want to have a
certain update? Actually my settings were all the while on auto update, but
I tried to set it to the middle option Notify me but do not automatically
download or install ... because I do not want the last update that comes
again undemanded. Does not seem to work. As soon as I go online it is
downloading the latest updates again and I do not get any option to chose
what I want to install. All of a sudden I am being told that updates are
waiting when I want to shut down the pc. The only option at this moment
would be to deny all updates, I cannot see what type of updates are
available or chose whether I want them or not.

Thanks for your help,

Hide Windows Update
Go to the Windows Update site, there you can click on the [+] next to the item
description and then check the "don't show me this update again" box, and Windows
update/Automatic Updates will be hidden and not offered unless you unhide it.
