I did a bit of digging, and found that there are 2 different patches for
this, one for PRE-SP2, and the other for prior to SP2

This cumulative patch, KB834707, for Internet Explorer 6 (Windows XP SP2
version) includes all previously released patches and eliminates newly
discovered vulnerabilities. Importantly, Microsoft have begun
differentiating between the version of Internet Explorer that was included
with Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer 6 SP1 on pre-SP2 or Windows 2000
PCs. Yes it's a confusing scenario. If you have XP SP2, get this update. If
you have Windows 2000 or XP without SP2 (such as SP1), download the other
update here.
