I have Windows Updates set to notify me when something is available. Well, my
computer is completely current, except for the 5 updates it wants me to
download for some Office products I dont even have installed! I do not wish
to turn off Windows Update notifications, but I am very tired of looking at
the little Icon in my taskbar telling me I have updates waiting.
Is there no way to ignore certain updates like I was able to do in XP?

Are you SURE you do not have said office products installed?

For example - do you have MS Works witrh Word installed?
Frontpage?
ANY office-like product?

Go to;
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu....aspx?ln=en-us

Choose custom, then when the update list appears uncheck the green check
mark and you will get a choice to check another boc(DO NOT SHOW THIS UPDATE
AGAIN)
The above should alleviate your issue

Shenan, i do have office 2002 installed, but it is trying to give me updates
for portions of the program I did not install; Outlook, Publisher, Sharepoint
and Access. I am only using Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
And MedRXMan, I tried that link and it actually opened up 2 pages. o neither
ofthem did i see a "Custom" option, nor was I able to view an update list
anywhere.
Help?

Just because the patches are for those particular items does not mean it
does not also replace/update SHARED files that ALL office products use.

Have you just tried installing them?
