You mean IIS 5.1 onto Windows XP Professional?
Sounds like corrupt media (installation media) or corruption in the media
reader (CD drive?) and/or possible issues with the hard disk drive it is
writing to..
(When was the last time you did a CHKDSK? How clean is the media (CD?) and
have you blown out the CD drive lately (if a CD..)?)
Other very good chances:
You may receive the "Setup cannot copy the file staxmem.dll"
error message when you try to install IIS on a computer that is
running Windows XP Professional with SP2
