I'm turning off automatic updates and setting that notify me updates are
needed. I hope ignorance is bliss. Otherwise I'm going to have to go to
Apple or Linux. Probably Apple.

..... And setting yourself up with security issues. Tell us how the Macs are
in a few months. :-)

Since this is the only post I see for you (no - I see no need to search) -
it looks to me like you are giving up first thing. With that methodology -
I suppose things don't matter much either way.

If you want - please describe what your issue is (or point us to the
previous postings - if any - that do that.) Be sure to include pertinent
details - like the OS in question, the service pack level in question, the
make/model of the computer in question, etc. A detailed description of what
the issue is (verbatim for error messages, etc) and a list of things you
have attempted in order to remedy the situation can also be useful in
helping you resolve your issues.

If anyone's interested - OPs history of postings (web interface comes in
handy).

He gives up after one day?

Dude, that's a bit of a wimpy attitude after you not posted up log files
for any of your failed patches.

No no one is forcing you to Vista.

Please post at least an error code or something as we can't read your
mind, nor that of your workstation.

I have XP sp3 machines patching just fine.

If you give up this fast, you've not even let anyone help you in the
first place.
