Have been using Windows Messenger 5.1 with XP Pro - connecting to our Live
Communications server for internal messaging.

Messenger 5.1 does not work in Vista - what does? Tried MS Office
Communicator but that doesn't work with our LCS version.

TIA
Jim

Hi Jim

Which version of Office Communicator did you use? Office Comunicator 2005 is
the client "non pareil" for LCS 2005. Office Communicator 2005 should run
okay on Vista - you may need this update, to resolve a few minor Vista
compatibility issues:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Otherwise, you might want to ask in the LCS newsgroup:
microsoft.public.livecomm.general

Windows Messenger is dead, finished, snuffed-it ... there will never be an
upgrade for Windows Messenger. The necessary APIs are no longer supported in
Vista.

Hope it helps,

Hi Andrew

It was 2005 and after installing the client and the patch it all works ok.
