Thanks for your input.
The drivers are the manufacturer's. Yes you are right about the Restore
function... I learnt my lesson... It is now turned on... The original
authentic Windows CD is no longer recognized as I have downloaded & installed
SP2 and this CD cannot be used any longer... This was a big surprise to me...
So goodbye to repair... I really do not know how to repair my system...
