Hi, I've been offline for about 1.5 months and in the meantime got rid of my
Vista and installed Windows 7. Today I'm back online and would like to get
my email back on the go. However I see that it only gives IMAP and I can't
figure out how to change it to POP3. Is this perhaps because I am now
connected to the internet by ADSL? Thanks in advance. HD

I don't know how you are only showing IMAP.
Tools, Accounts, Add, E-mail account, filling in address, name, and display
name takes you to the server settings page which uses Pop3. A 'Hotmail'
address would not have displayed the server page and would have used http.

The connection type does not affect the email settings.
Who is your email provider? (the part after the @)

Hi Ron, my email account for the last 4 years has been gmail.com, using
POP3. But when I downloaded the Windows Live Essentials package and
opened up the email I found this really abridged toolbar which I don't know
how to fix. I have right clicked but can't seem to add any items. My
toolbar on MS.public.windows.live.mail.desktop is fine! However with effect
from today I am using Telkomsa.net and have set it up using POP3. Tomorrow
I will try to set up the Gmail again failing which I will have to discard
it. No big deal. Thanks, HD

Note! Just after sending the email below, lo and behold my toolbar had
corrected itself!
