Hi,

I am trying to configure windows mail which came with my Vista Business
but facing some problems. I am using IMAP to access my mails but it
does not store sent mails / drafts at the server end and also when I
delete an email, it gets deleted from my local computer (it's not
getting marked with a red strikethrough the mail but simply getting
deleted without even a warning and moreover I can't find them in the
"Deleted Items" folder) and also it does not have any affect on the
server. The mail still remains on the server. I have "Purge deleted
messages when leaving IMAP folders" unchecked.

Anybody has any idea what's wrong with this or where I am going wrong?

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks

In the dialogue box for the Account settings, on one of the tabs, there are
options for saving a copy on the server, IIRC.

When you delete files in IMAP, you still have to Purge them manually before
they get deleted on the server. If you have that option to delete them when
you leave the folders you may Purge by accident, so I leave that unchecked
as well.
