import favorites from cd

I had to reinstall Vista Home Premium because of bad hard drive.
I keep trying to import my favorites from my backup cd onto ie and getting nowhere. I have tried the copy & paste and nothing happens. When I try import, I keep getting no such file. I want to import the whole cd of favorites at once. Am I missing something? I don't have a file "bookmark.htm" & when I renamed the folder that, it still said it didn't exist. 4 days on this one problem is driving me batty. Can anyone help?
