import not possible in any way for mail

Due to hardware change (board / cpu)
Vista was not able to repair itself with
new chipset drivers. So, we had to install
Vista a second time.

It creates itself a folder named windows.old
Under no circumstances vista mail is able to import
anything. No accounts, no contacts and
especiallly no messages. Online help is no help at all.

Windows easy transfer is a big crap, too.
The new system space has more than doubled
up to more than 40 Gig. but nothing was implemented
during a several hour task in all.

I shame myself for buying Vista.
Microsoft Munich Germany had no ideas
because there are no experiences at all.

Does anyone have had similiar sickness ?

Your Contacts will be under Windows.old\Users\username\Contacts\.
Don't import. Manually copy that folder to the new location.

Your emails will be under
Windows.old\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft \Windows Mail\Local Folders\.
If you point the Windows Mail import wizard to that folder, it should find
the emails. If not, you can manually drag and drop the old emails into
the Windows Mail message pane GUI.
