From which program?
You normally export from one program in CSV format, then import that.

Export from Outlook Express to Windows Live.
I have the Outlook Express CSV contact List a small USB drive.
I just need to know how to inport them in Windows Live.

I would apppreciate it, if you could outline the procedure.

Thanks, Bill

Copy the USB file to your PC somewhere (the Desktop is fine). Then in WLM,
open the empty Contacts window (icon lower left corner). Then, File -
Import - Comma Separated Values (.CSV) - Browse to the saved Desktop file .
.. . . .

If you are not seeing the "File" option, you need to "turn on" the "Menu
bar" - click the Menu icon beside the ? icon on the top right and select
"Show Menu bar" (to show it permanently).

I have the same problem. I followed your directions but when when I Browse
to the saved file on the Desktop, there are no CSV files. It's just blank.
If I change from CSV to All Files, I can see them. I then proceeded and
tried to select them by Last Name, then again by email address. Nothing
happened.

any recommendations from here?

thanks!

When you select them, click on every checkbox that applies to a field you
want to import. Then, there's a "Finish" button - at the bottom - did you
click that? I'm having no problems with this procedure. My test person
just populated in my contacts list.

You said when you "change from CSV to All Files" you can see them. If you
created the export as a CSV file (a selection you had to make), you should
not have to change that to locate the file. So, like Winston said it sounds
like maybe you didn't create the export as a CSV file. Can you further
verify and explain?
