I have Windows Vista on my new computer and am using Outlook 2007 for my
mail now. Want to get all my Outlook Express messages from old computer -
loaded the dbx file onto the new computer. Outlook 2007 says I can only
import from Outlook Express which of course I cannot put on the new
computer. Trying to use Windows Mail therefore to import this DBX file and
then have Outlook inport from there. Well Windows Mail does not seem to
read/recognize the DBX file! When I open the folder where I have it stored,
it does not show up, even when I enable the viewing of hidden files/folders.

Anyone have this problem or have suggestions?

Thanks!

Eric

Make sure the file is read-write before you try to import it in Windows
Mail; if it is readonly, WM is likely to have trouble with it.

Make sure you copy all the .dbx files to your new computer, not just
the ones you want to import. One is used as an index into the others,
and needs to be copied even if you don't want anything else from it.

When you try to import the .dbx files into Windows Mail, do not open the
folder that they are in.....
